Thailand AIS and Huawei jointly launch the "Smart City" plan to accelerate the development of L4 self-intelligent networks

[Bangkok, Thailand, October 9, 2024] Recently, AIS, a leading operator in Thailand, officially launched the "Smart City" plan with Huawei as one of the first partners. The plan aims to jointly create a high-quality and highly reliable smart wireless network in the new era through joint innovation in the field of wireless intelligence.

Thailand's AIS is committed to achieving the strategic goal of Autonomous Network (AN) L4 by 2025. In the past two years, the close cooperation between Huawei and AIS in the field of wireless intelligence has successfully incubated innovative applications such as "base station retirement compensation" and "sudden traffic intelligent optimization". These applications not only improve network traffic and operation and maintenance efficiency, but also significantly improve user experience satisfaction, helping AIS achieve the stage strategic goal of AN L3 in key wireless scenarios.

The core concept of the "Smart City" program is that Huawei and industry partners such as operators will work together to incubate new wireless network intelligent applications and business models, combining the latest intelligent technologies such as big models and digital twins, to open up new business opportunities and economic value in the wireless field. AIS has become one of the first important partners of the program, marking an important step towards its strategic vision of achieving a Level 4 autonomous network, in which the system can manage itself almost 100%.

Thailand AIS and Huawei plan to cooperate on three topics:

• 1. Leverage decision-making intelligence to provide a reliable, differentiated experience for 5G and future 5G-A users;
• 2. Use digital twin technology to better improve the multi-objective decision-making capabilities of intelligent energy saving, achieve optimal energy saving, and ensure more performance indicators;
• 3. Generative intelligence technology is used to learn network operation and maintenance knowledge and experience, to analyze network faults for engineers, and to provide professional guidance for subsequent repairs and even predictions.
