In her welcome speech, Ms. Ng Lai-kuen, Chief Information Officer and Director of the University Library of the University of Hong Kong, said: "As a world-class university, the University of Hong Kong is committed to providing the best teaching and research environment for academic talents around the world and promoting the integration of education and technology. This year marks the 112th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Hong Kong Library, which has become an important platform for global academic research over the past century. With the diversified growth of teaching needs and the acceleration of digital transformation, building a smart campus is crucial to providing high-quality educational services. This cooperation with Huawei has built a high-quality 10G campus network based on Wi-Fi 7, which has been fully deployed in multiple scenarios such as the HKU Main Library, Loke Yew Hall, classrooms, and the HKU MTR Station to ensure stable and smooth network connections for smart classroom teaching applications, libraries, study rooms, and auditoriums, laying a solid foundation for HKU to build a smart campus. In the future, the two parties will continue to work closely together, relying on smart networks, focusing on in-depth development of scenarios such as network security, smart operation and maintenance, and smart campus IoT, to jointly build a safer, more efficient, and intelligent future education environment and promote the digital transformation of the education industry."

He Weizhi, President of Huawei's Global Enterprise Data Communications Marketing and Solution Sales Department

In his speech, He Weizhi, President of Huawei's Global Enterprise Data Communications Marketing and Solution Sales Department, mentioned: "At present, education is accelerating its deep integration with digital technology. In this cooperation, Huawei fully leverages its experience and advantages in the ICT field to help HKU achieve innovations in scientific research, teaching affairs, and management processes. Among them, Huawei's high-quality 10G campus network based on Wi-Fi 7 promotes the upgrade of HKU's wireless experience, application experience, and operation and maintenance experience. While ensuring data security, it meets the diversified needs of campus scenarios and brings a new network experience."

Technological innovation meets high concurrency network requirements and helps upgrade campus network experience

Entering the digital age, online exams, live classes, lectures, ceremonies and other activities have put forward higher requirements on the performance of modern campus networks. Especially for smart classroom scenarios, how to ensure the classroom teaching experience is the core. In this regard, Huawei's high-quality 10G campus network solution not only deploys the new generation of Wi-Fi 7 technology, improves the basic bandwidth of the smart classroom network to meet the needs of 4K/8K high-definition interactive teaching, but also greatly provides automatic identification, priority scheduling, application quality visualization and other capabilities for key teaching service applications through the application assurance capabilities of the entire network solution to ensure teaching applications. At the same time, as a historical landmark and an important activity center, Huawei has deployed a new generation of Wi-Fi 7 APs in the main building, Lu You Hall, the library, the study room and other areas to ensure that the network is stable and smooth during the peak period of centralized online exams and celebrations.

This cooperation is an important demonstration and practice for both parties to jointly build smart education and explore the new future of campus intelligent connection. He Weizhi mentioned: "Huawei hopes to continue to work with HKU to further establish a high-quality educational environment, help HKU consolidate its leading position in the field of global higher education, provide excellent case references for more Hong Kong institutions, and jointly open a new chapter in digital education."
