Joint Innovation Center for Clean Energy Large Bases Officially Unveiled to Promote High-Quality Development of New Power Systems

[Chengdu, China, April 3, 2025] Today, Huawei Digital Energy gathered with customers and partners in Chengdu to unveil the Clean Energy Base Joint Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Joint Innovation Center”). With collaborative innovation as its core positioning, the Joint Innovation Center focuses on clean energy bases, jointly incubating innovative solutions for new power systems and promoting the high-quality development of new power systems.

Now, the digital energy industry has entered an active period of innovation, and the accelerated integration of technology, scene, and industry is reconfiguring the logic of energy industry development. In the face of complex scenarios and severe challenges, joint innovation upstream and downstream of the industry chain to create a technological innovation plateau has become the core engine for the innovative development of the new energy industry. Sichuan, with its rich energy-use scenarios, is a technological highland for the construction of clean energy bases. Huawei Digital Energy, together with its customers and partners, set up a joint innovation center in Chengdu, adhering to the principle of “opening up innovation topics and sharing innovation results”, and promoting the construction of a photovoltaic, wind, and storage network, multi-energy complementary joint scheduling, and multi-energy complementary joint dispatching, in response to the challenges of the clean energy bases that are facing difficult operation and maintenance and the difficulty of sending out electricity. In view of the challenges faced by large clean energy bases, such as difficult operation and maintenance and difficult power delivery, the JIC promotes the innovative application of frontier technologies such as light, wind, storage and grid, multi-energy complementary joint scheduling, and power plant digitalization and intelligence.

The innovation topics of the JIC are undertaken by a joint team formed by the customer, partners, and Huawei, and the high-quality delivery of the innovation topics is ensured through the standardized operation of the five phases of topic initiation, system design, integration and development, system testing, and verification and acceptance. Huawei provides experts, laboratories, computing power, and other resources; customers open up empirical demonstration scenarios, business model docking, data resource support, and other resources; and partners provide scenario-based solution capabilities and technical resources to achieve co-creativity and win-win results through complementarity of advantages and aggregation of capabilities.

At the meeting, a ceremony was also held for the stationing of partners in the Clean Energy Large Base Joint Innovation Center, where the stationed partners will carry out serialization of topics around wind, water and water storage multi-energy complementary, power station full life cycle digitalization, optical storage integration network, optical storage charging and use integration, smart microgrids, etc., and work together to incubate leading scenario-based innovative solutions.

The official unveiling of the Joint Innovation Center marks a new stage of collaborative innovation in the digital energy industry, and will inject new kinetic energy into the high-quality development of the clean energy base.
