Today, NEFU has developed into a national "Double First-Class" university, excelling in forestry and engineering. As one of NEFU's key construction projects, the "Ecosystem Big Data Research Center" is driven by carbon sink big data. It leverages the school's scientific foundation and talent advantages to solve key scientific issues in carbon sink measurement and evaluation and propose solutions for increasing ecosystem carbon sequestration. To better carry out related technological breakthroughs, the project urgently needs to complete the construction of basic data service platform software and hardware facilities for the big data research center. Therefore, NEFU partnered with Huawei Digital Energy to introduce Huawei's Smart Modular 6.0 product solution, jointly building a green and intelligent modular data center to provide a foundational platform for smooth carbon storage and carbon sink measurement and evaluation.

Integrated Solution, Full Modular Architecture, Rapid Deployment of University Data Center

Huawei's new generation Smart Modular 6.0 is a one-stop solution for small and medium-sized data centers. It integrates power supply, cooling, cabinets, channels, cabling, and intelligent management platforms into a full modular architecture, enabling simplified installation and rapid deployment, embodying the design concepts of being green, simple, safe, and intelligent. Upon arrival at NEFU, the installation and commissioning were completed in just seven days.

Continuous Cooling Architecture: Dual-Use Chain, Uninterrupted Operation

In recent years, the rapid economic development of Heilongjiang Province has led to high power demand and tight supply, significantly impacting high-speed data centers, with abnormal power supply easily causing local hotspots. Huawei's Smart Modular dual-use chain architecture achieves continuous cooling, ensuring stable operation of the cooling system and preventing local hotspots caused by abnormal power supply. Additionally, through component innovation and architecture integration, it realizes dual IT and temperature control modes for on-demand selection.

Mobile Intelligent Management: Simplified Operations, Four Exemptions

Addressing operational difficulties, Huawei's Smart Modular solution introduces mobile intelligent management, based on Huawei's full-stack cloud data center capabilities, achieving four exemptions in data center management: no hardware deployment, no room inspection, no fault location, and no on-site maintenance. The mobile management platform connects with a single scan, enabling 24/7 mobile operations, monthly in-depth data center inspections, identifying over 20 hidden dangers, providing fault handling guidance, and one-click repair, comprehensively simplifying data center operations.

Huawei's Smart Modular 6.0 solution provides a solid digital foundation for NEFU's ecosystem big data-driven teaching model. Leveraging the new digital machine room, NEFU's Ecosystem Big Data Research Center uses cloud platform storage and computing capabilities, not only enhancing performance but also improving its ability to handle large data streams, meeting forestry research needs and providing practical training platforms for related students. The vast data and information carried by the platform also offer rich teaching materials for teachers; real-time data collection and digital mapping of physical forestry can provide personalized learning modes for students, forming a "thousand people, thousand faces" course system. Additionally, Huawei's Smart Modular 6.0 will assist NEFU in the construction and scientific research of disciplines such as forestry, material science, wildlife protection, smart forestry, and intelligent agricultural and forestry equipment under the background of big data.
