As the largest aviation transportation hub deployed by the country in the southwest region, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport has a construction grade of 4F. It is positioned as a national-level international aviation hub and the highest-level aviation port in the Silk Road Economic Belt. It will carry all international routes departing from Chengdu and meet the demand for passenger throughput of 50 million and cargo and mail throughput of 1.4 million tons by 2025.

To support such a large volume of passenger and cargo throughput, stable and reliable data center support is indispensable. In order to match the positioning of a 4F-level airport, achieve highly intelligent operations, and build a new generation of smart airports, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport will build an intelligent data center as the key to accelerating digital transformation and smart upgrades.
“Our goal is to be faster, more stable and greener”
Director Xu of the Planning Department of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport said, "When the intelligent integrated modular data center project for the airport cargo area project was first launched, we set the goal of building a modern, intelligent, green and energy-saving data center." Tianfu International Airport chose to work with Huawei to jointly build the airport and adopt Huawei's modular data center solution to achieve rapid deployment, high reliability, and green energy saving.
Tianfu Airport Cargo Terminal has two main data centers, one for international and one for domestic use, both of which use Huawei's modular data center solution, which has unique advantages: prefabrication saves 50% of construction time compared to traditional methods, and can be deployed on demand to support elastic expansion to adapt to the growth of business volume; the data center construction adopts Class B data center design, redundant system architecture, and component-level safety self-inspection, which greatly improves the safety level of the data center. The solution also uses a high-efficiency modular UPS with an efficiency of up to 96%, and row-level air conditioning and enclosed cold channels lay a good foundation for the green data center.
At the same time, the 27 weak-current access rooms in the cargo terminal area of Tianfu Airport all use Huawei's FusionModule500 integrated modular data center, which integrates UPS, power distribution, monitoring, and batteries in one cabinet, saving at least 50% of space compared to traditional data centers, solving the problem of tight space in each weak-current room.

Cloud management and control to achieve intelligent operation and maintenance
Tianfu International Airport has many main data centers and weak current access rooms that are scattered. How to achieve efficient, convenient and fast operation and maintenance has always been the biggest challenge. To this end, Huawei NetEco6000 management platform connects the airport's 29 data centers to centralized operation and maintenance management. Equipped with an intelligent management platform, Tianfu International Airport has achieved data center resources that are visible and manageable, effectively reducing operation and maintenance costs; digital technology cloud management and control greatly improves the operating efficiency of the data center, which can reduce 80% of the operation and maintenance manpower compared to traditional data centers, and can even achieve unmanned operation, greatly reducing the difficulty of airport operation and maintenance.
Working with Huawei, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport not only has a leading intelligent data center, but also provides a reliable foundation for the airport's business development and innovation, and will further promote the airport's digital transformation and intelligent upgrade to achieve accelerated development. Next, Huawei will work with more partners to ride on the wind of digitalization and intelligence and win together in the new era of digital economy.
